The protection of personal data matters to us. This statement explains the nature, scope and purpose of the processing of personal data on this website.

Hosting

This website is hosted by Greenhost B.V., Amsterdam (Netherlands). The provider processes technically necessary data on our behalf (including server log files). A data processing agreement is in place.

Server log files

When the pages are accessed, information transmitted by the browser is recorded automatically (date and time, page accessed, referrer, browser type, IP address in shortened form). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure and stable operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Contact by email

If you write to us by email, we process your details solely in order to deal with your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). We do not pass this data on without your consent.

Contact form and test network form

When you submit one of our forms, we process the details you provide there solely in order to deal with your request (Art. 6(1)(a) and (b) GDPR). The details are stored on our web server in the website database and are additionally sent to contact@somsorium.eu. They are not passed on to third parties. We delete the data once the matter is closed and no statutory retention periods stand in the way; at the latest after 24 months we review what is held. We also store which language version of the site the form was submitted from, so that we can reply in that language.

The forms contain a field that is invisible to people, used to fend off automated submissions. If it is filled in, we discard the submission without storing it.

For the newsletter we use the double opt-in procedure: after you sign up you receive an email containing a confirmation link. Only once you click that link do we add your address to the distribution list. If you do not confirm, nothing further happens.

We store your email address, the interests you selected and the time of confirmation. To make the confirmation link work we also store a randomly generated one-off token and the time the confirmation email was sent; the link expires 14 days after that. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time — via the unsubscribe link in every newsletter email, or informally by sending us a message. If you unsubscribe we delete your address; we do not keep it on a suppression list. We send the mails ourselves; we do not use any external newsletter service.

Signing up for the waitlist and consenting to the newsletter are two separate things. A waitlist entry is stored whether or not you also ask for the newsletter, and unsubscribing from the newsletter does not withdraw your waitlist entry.

Web statistics (reach measurement)

If this website collects usage statistics, this is done exclusively through cookie-free web statistics operated on our own infrastructure (no Google Analytics and no service belonging to an advertising network). No cookies are set, no cross-device profiles are built and no data is transmitted to third-party providers; only aggregated figures that cannot be traced back to an individual are evaluated (such as pages accessed, approximate region of origin or device type). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a needs-based and secure design (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Since no cookies and no personal profiles are used, no consent is required; you may object to the processing at any time.

No marketing cookies, no third-party embedding

This website does not use marketing or advertising cookies. Fonts are served locally; no external services (such as fonts, maps or advertising and tracking networks) are embedded from third-party servers.

Your rights

You have the right to information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR), as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
